News letter article

FROM THE SEED WAREHOUSE

Hello everyone, on this date 26th of January the month is about to come to an end. It’s hard to believe one month in 2017 is already over. In this Newsletter I’m going to talk to you about Soybeans for the upcoming season, I have received a lot of questions.

They are three different systems of Soybeans you can use this coming season. The first is RR2 Soybeans like AG3432 & AG3034 or the Croplan 3350. The next is the Liberty Soybean system; we carry this in the Croplan Brand. The varieties we will have are LC3150, LC3600 & LC3900. The last system is the new XTend System, the Dicamba product with Vapor Grip Technology. We will have 4 products, AG30X6, AG34X7, AG38X6 or AG39X7SR.

The first question you need to ask yourself or your operation is what kind of weed pressure you have? By that I mean did you have a lot of uncontrollably weeds (Pigweeds) not being able to kill them? If you don’t have a problem I would recommend you go with the old RR2 system yet another year (I have been told the RR2 Beans will be done in another year or two). The AG3432 is still has one of the best Yielding Soybean out there. Now if you have a weed problem the other two choices are Liberty Link or the New XTend system. The Liberty Link system you need to run with at least 15 gallon to 20 gallon per acre. Also the Liberty Link system works better in a high humidity year. In the New XTend system the biggest point you need to know is that you can’t use any AMS products in the mixture. Using AMS with the Xtendimax turns the compound back onto DGA salt and can easily volatilize to an off target field. Remember you must triple rinse your sprayer out before and after you spray your soybeans, so saying that you might want to stick with one system on all your acres. Our sales this year we are selling all systems to some farmers, some farmers are going with all Liberty Link and some are with two difference systems. One piece of advice I have is please communicate with your neighbors around all your fields to see what they are planting. That call before you plant is a lot easier than the one after you have sprayed and damaged his crop.

AgAnytime Website

Monsanto's newest producer-oriented website www.AgAnytime.com  is now online!
One of the many helpful tools that the website has is region specific seed recommendations.  Clicking on the agSeedSelect button on the top of the page will prompt you to enter your zip code, and from there, the local/regional agronomist has selected seed that is best grown.  The producer can even remove seed varieties that they wish not to see on the list.  You can even save the list of your own and come back to it later.  If you check back later, CPC will create a "Custom" seed list for the growers in the area.
Another tool on the website, called agAhead, if the producer enters in their zip code once again, can recieve yield results in the area from various varieties.
Along with both of these, there are numerous helpful articles and current weather on the home page.

For all of our tech-savvy producers out there, all of these are apps that can be found in the Apple App Store or in the Android App Store.

We encourage our producers to check out all of the Monsanto/Dekalb/Asgrow apps, and the helpful websites they offer.
